Winter Training. September to April The Winter evening training program starts at Markhams Chase in Laindon during the week, walking and running various routes around Basildon and the surrounding area. Groups are split into walking, run-walk, slow run, medium run and fast run to allow members to progress. Tuesday Mornings. (MAP) We have started a new group on Tuesday mornings 10am at The Langdon Centre. Walking or running for about an hour followed (if one is inclined) by coffee and a chat, so a very sociable meeting. This is all on trails so might get a bit muddy!! Totally new exercisers really welcome. Tuesday Evenings. Markhams Chase. Laindon. (MAP) Arrive at Markhams Chase at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. Approximate run/walk times 45 minute. Tuesday night offers a recovery night for those who have raced over the weekend and a slow easy pace for beginners. Thursday Evenings. Markhams Chase. Laindon. (MAP) Arrive at Markhams Chase at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. Approximate run/walk times 1 hour. Thursday night offers members a chance to cover 4-9 miles according to abilities and pace within each group. Sunday Mornings. Essex Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre. Lower Dunton Road (MAP) All year Sunday mornings off road from The Langdon Visitor Centre, Lower Dunton Road 9am. Minimum requirement. This is for those who can run for at least 1hr slowly. Usually a slow and a fast run. This is subject to change due to race commitments so please check with Gwyn by phone or email before attending.. Summer Training. May to September During the Summer months the club enjoys training in the surrounding country parks, walking and running through some of the best scenery South Essex has to offer. Tuesday Evenings. Back of ‘The Harvester’ (The Crown). (MAP) Tuesday evening meetings start at the back of ‘The Harvester’ pub in the country park car park, Westeley Heights off Langdon Hills High Road. Arrive at the car park at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. Approximate run/walk times 50 minutes.. Tuesday night offers a recovery night for those who have raced over the weekend and a slow easy pace for beginners. Thursday Evenings. Markhams Chase. Laindon.
